Stephen Meyer
Associate Professor

Stephen Meyer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art and Music History (formerly the Department of Fine Arts) at Syracuse University. His book Carl Maria von Weber and the Search for a German Opera was published in 2003, and has published articles in the Journal of the American Musicological Society, Opera Quarterly and the Cambridge Opera Journal. Forthcoming articles concern early sound recordings of Wagner’s music, the iconography of the leitmotif, and the topic of medievalism in film music.
